Review: ConfidenceKini Challenge Week 2 & 21-Day Sugar Detox Day 9

Welcome back to another episode of the ConfidenceKini Challenge by Lauren Gleisberg and the 21-Day Sugar Detox by Diane Sanfilippo

Monday, Day 3: Arm Workout
A new arm workout and some jumping jacks in between. Never thought that 60 seconds could feel that long. :D No headache that day, but I felt like getting hungry all the time. Maybe I didn't eat enough.
Dinner: Spaghetti with ham and a creamy sauce

Tuesday, Day 4: HIIT & Abs
As a HIIT workout I decided to give the Bikini Body Guide another try. I changed it a little bit. I decided to do two round of every circuit, but not more. And that was already too much for my knee.    :( I didn't hurt, but I felt that something was wrong and I wasn't supposed to do the lower body workout which was planned for the next day. I had diarrhea, maybe because I eat a lot more fat now?
Dinner: Spaghetti with ham and a creamy sauce

Wednesday, Day 5: Lower Body
This morning I craved a croissant with butter and strawberry jam. Hmm. It would be so good. But just a dream... Since my knee didn't feel okay, I decided to do the upper body workout from last week. I'm so bad in push ups. :D Especially when the are at the end of the workout! And in the evening I slipped a little bit and ate two Raffaellos. I craved them all night and then I ate two and everything was fine.
Dinner: Salmon Wraps

Thursday, Day 6: Upper Body & Abs
Since I already did an upper body workout the day before, I decided to catch up with all the ab workouts and met my friend in the gym to do them together. Pretty tough and I could feel it the next day. My boyfriend made my favorite dinner: Salmon with carrots and potatoes and creme fraiche. I could eat it every day! <3

Friday, Day 7: Kettlebell Booty
Oh Kettlebell! I just love you. Haha. I really enjoyed this workout even if I switched some of them with TIU kettlebell moves. In the evening we went for dinner in the city and I got a salat with roasted potatoes which were so yummy. After that we were invited to a birthday cake and I already decided before that I will eat a small piece since it would be very strange not to eat anything. And that cake was so delicious. I definitely could enjoy it.

Saturday, Day 8: Distance Run & Abs
After so much food the day before I decided to have a lighter day with some cardio. Went on the treadmill for the distance run which was 2 miles or 2.41km. I have to get me new shoes because mine hurting after a while. I also already started the #100bysummer miles challenge by Tone It Up.
Dinner: Garlic bread

My thoughts
I really like this challenge. It is just 6 weeks, the workouts are challenging but not too long. I usually spend 45 minutes to one hour in the gym with warm up, workout and cool down. Since the gym is right next to my flat it's just perfect. If would go to the gym only 3 times a week I would recommend to pair two workouts and you should be done after 60-90 minutes.
The 21 Day Sugar Detox is challenging. I slipped up twice and if I understand the author correctly I would need to restart. But the good thing is: It's my sugar detox and I don't think a slip up changes anything. I'm here to reduce my sugar intake tremendously and I did. I usually eat sweets everyday plus a lot of other junk food, filled with added sugar. And I have to say, the 21-Day Sugar Detox might help to get into a low sugar life, but it's not the solution, at least not for me. I definitely want to stay with a very low sugar but when I'm sitting at the table with my friends I don't want to be the only one who doesn't eat. But we have two weeks to go and maybe I will have a different opinion then! We will see. What I really enjoy are the supportive 21DSD emails you can get for free. I'm always looking forward to see it in my mail box!

See you next week!

Julie
